Road trip Karma
As I waited for the flight from SJU to MKE I cried my eyes out as I was in disbelief I was leaving my grandfather is such situation. But I had logically decided that I needed to go to continue with the plans I had set up with Paul. The road trip was the next big part of our adventure. I had made sure my grandfather agreed of me leaving and by the grace of nature he responded with a knotting yes as I asked him in his lethargy. There I was. But suddenly something change my karma. From not finding a overhead compartment to having two seats just for me and a blond guy. I sat down already calm for an inexplicable reason. Because of the change of seats I managed to loose my driver's license, again strangely I didn't panic. I gracefully looked and looked and finally found in at my original designated seat 10D under the cushion. The ordeal had me interacting with many people in the flight but specially with the blond guy (BG). We struck a conversation that I will never forget about traveling, and freedom and good will. He gave me some pointers for our travels since he was himself a very experience husband-wife travel duo. This whole conversation had to be good for both of us because in our next connection we had both planned to give something to one. I had reserved 4 pasteles for him and he gave me the following poem, which he said had became a Oman for his travels
I live my life in Growing orbits
Which move out
Over the things of this world
And though
I may never achieve the last ring
That will be my aim
For I am circling
Around an ancient tower
Around God
And I
Have been circling for a thousand years
Yet I still do not know
If I am
A falcon
Or a storm
Or a great song
By RM Rilke
By then I had already changed to my positive self and had met 2 other interesting souls in the way. Today Wednesday 21 Paul and I had gone 845 miles west passing Wisconsin, Minnesota and camped at the Badlands of South Dakota. Now we are heading to Mount Rushmore. Nothing hold us back just the fear of our own minds, we have started to feel free.
